Southshore Bay Lagoon – Solar Shades

Awning Works’ solar shade project at Southshore Bay hits the mark to provide comfort and protection from the elements. Metro Lagoons Corporation is becoming an increasing popular residential community idea that features crystal clear, freshwater lagoons and man-made sandy beaches as part of the amenities that can be enjoyed by not only the residents but are also open to the general public.

Southshore Bay is the most recent of these lagoons and is a part of a newly constructed gated community located near Sun City Center, just south of Riverview, Florida. This unique property of Southshore Bay lets guests purchase day passes to enjoy a huge freshwater swimming lagoon that offers swimming, water slides, kayaking, paddle-boarding and more. Outfitted with several areas to lounge comfortably, Southshore Bay is a perfect place to schedule a day of relaxation or even to plan a special event.

Awning Works was able to install 23 manually operated solar screens that can easily be opened and closed by the swimming lagoon attendants.

The goal of this project and these solar shades were to provide and area for the guests who are enjoying the waterside bar to have a cool, dry place to grab some refreshments while being able to feel the cool breeze and enjoy the great views.
