Who says that a commercial product can’t be used in a residential setting!
Our custom welded, aluminum sunshades are typically used on commercial buildings but they can also turn a residential project into a truly stunning, architectural beauty, especially when the home is built using modern design elements.
So how did we come to recommend this product to be used in a residential environment?
Our client, Michael Bright, whose home is located in the Bay Pines/Jungle Prada waterfront section of St. Petersburg, was going through a major remodel and wanted something that would not only complement the ultra-modern design of his home but needed something functional, that would filter light and reduce heat gain into the home. It also needed to be maintenance free and be able to stand up to Florida’s harsh weather conditions, including wind, sun and sea spray.
Our design team chose a product which we call an airfoil sunshade, which is basically a welded and structural, aluminum, louvered, blade system. It was a great choice and it turned out fantastic! Combine the custom powder coat finish and the durability of an aluminum product, and it becomes worry free for years to come. With its NOA approval for wind loads up 153 mph Mr. Bright becomes another satisfied client for Awning Works.
