Rooftop lounges are the new standard for modern restaurants and hotels. A few rooftop bars have popped up across the Tampa Bay area. From Downtown St. Petersburg to St. Pete Beach, this trend takes full advantage of all the beauty that Florida has to offer. Here at Awning Works Inc., we were able to help with one of the latest places to add rooftop dining, Beach Haus.
Located in Gulfport, Florida, Beach Haus was a German-inspired restaurant located across the street from the Gulfport Casino. With beautiful views of the Boca Ciega Bay and gorgeous Florida sunsets, adding the rooftop lounge offers patrons a unique dining experience in the Gulfport area. The owner of Beach Haus was looking to utilize the space and make use of the amazing Florida views. He also didn’t want to lose the outdoor seating and atmosphere in the event of some bad weather.
Dining under the stars is a great option at night, but in the daytime, the summertime sun can be harsh. Sitting outside enjoying the beautiful vistas is accompanied by the threat of rain. That’s why Beach Haus teamed up with us here at Awning Works to install what baseball fans have been clamoring about for the professional stadium up the road: a retractable roof.
We set up Beach Haus with a GENNIUS retractable enclosed pergola system, which provided some much-needed shade in the Florida sunshine. We also installed roll curtains that were able to enclose the entire area to keep it dry in case of a driving rain. The benefits of this setup are numerous, allowing the establishment to adjust its outdoor rooftop to suit the conditions. Whether patrons are looking to sit down for a meal, or just have a drink and enjoy some of the nightly live music, Beach Haus boasted the rooftop patio that offered it all.
